Hi all, my name is Amir and I own a 1989 MR2 Supercharger, manual, silver t-bars, orange pearl mica (hence the name). Its very mildly tuned with things like a HKS air kit, short shift box etc.
If you live in or around London then you may well see me zooming up and down the A40 and around Kings Road and Pimlico as I work around there and I drive into work in the SC. Am quite often around Limehouse too.

I am very interested in MK1's in general hence I joined this forum.

Some pics of my SC are here: www.amirhashmi.org. Am going to put some more up soon as I just got it resprayed.

How many 1.5's are there in the UK?

Cheers,
Amir

Oh and BTW, I am currently looking for an O2 sensor and a TPS for my SC. I understand that there is a Rick (mr2gti) who is the man for parts?
Have PM'd him but can anyone PM me his email address?

Thx for the welcome. I never bought a H&T brace, no. I did sell my car to a chap named Ian for a few years. Missed it so much I bought it back off him!

I know it is bound to be covered elsewhere on this forum but tell me, does the V6 not make the MR2 too back heavy?

there isnt much difference between the two engines apparently- v6 is small once you take all the crap off of it! most of the weight is in the auto box as well. take a look at pauls and jb threads and they will tell you the same:tongue: are you thinking of a v6 swap? welcome to the nuthouse:smile:

Lovely looking car Amir. Wish mine was as good, would take a lot more than polish for it to look that smart though.

Will take a look. Am not going to mess with my SC at all. I like it as it is! I was toying with the idea of getting a black NA (have always wanted a black NA!) and doing something a little special to it. A smooth V6 would really do the trick.
Don't have time atm so will just read and digest. Perhaps next year...

Hi Amir, stunning colour SC never seen one that colour, very nice:cool:. A black Mk1 V6 would set it off perfectly on your drive I'm sure:wink:.

OMG I've never seen those teardrop wheels so shiny! :D

Nice colour, rivals that ice blue colour as the best one IMHO.

Thx for all the welcomes. Dan, the teardrops that I used to have on the SC are the factory items from Japan. All Jap SC's used to have polished teardrops! They were really nice and I loved them. Ian who got the car off me for a couple of years replaced them with what is on it now. I do like the new alloys but do miss the polished tear drops. They are very hard to get hold of!

Welcome PearlMica.

I looked at your pics. Very nice SC you have. However, for some reason I dont' think that is orange pearl mica? It looks more burgandy than the other orange pearl micas I've seen. I don't see your car as orange at all.

Hi Todd,

I do believe the paint code refers to Orange Pearl Mica. Will get the VIN etc and let you know.

Yours looks fab! I am worried about lowering my SC as our Audi A4 is lowered and it scrape along on speed bumps so is not usable in the real world. Am putting standard springs back on it.

Cheers,
Amir

Welcome glad to hear you fancy the V6. I've just hung the engine in mine with the standard springs and it sits exactly as before, as Paul also found, so I don't think we have any weight worries.
Enjoy the forum but beware:nuts: :wierd:
