Hi all,
a few of you may already know me from other forums and from actually meeting you face to face, anyway im Tony, ive had 2 mk1's, my first mk1 was a red 87 coupe which i spent a fortune on but i consider this money well spent as it got me to not only meet my good friend Paul woods but also learn more about these outstanding cars & with the encouragement of Paul and others i can now take on almost any job on a standard mk1.
Due to a mishap with my red mk1, i now own an 89 T-bar which ive had for nearly a year, Paul helped me source this car and it was in outstanding condition, the only things not standard is the twin exit Lotus elise S2 exhaust which paul fabricated to my car for me and as far as we know my car is the only standard mk1 to have this fitted, he also fitted his choke conversion kit which i now wouldnt be without !! ive also fitted the same urathane bush kit which paul is fitting to his V6 project and it makes a real difference to the handling of my car. I do like the MK1 in standard form but im full of admiration for you guys who have pushed the boundaries effectivly ensuring that the cars we love will last well into the future, hope to meet more of you guys soon, cheers, Jinxy

Anyway good to see you on the forum mate....tell kev to have a look too,its well worth a read.

JB im not with you bud? when did you shoot me down? constructive criticism is perfectly ok but ive yet to see anyone on this forum say "what a bloody stupid idea, that will never work and you will ruin your car if you do it" like you get on other forums...You have nothing to be sorry about my friend! :D

you've made a bad move coming here....your car will never be the same again! give it a couple of weeks, you'll be looking for an sw20 rear clip ;)
Paul Woods

amen brother!
Yes you could be looking for a tubby rear clip :) or complete Camry  to break in which case you could have a 3.0 litre V6  for nothing :D with money to spare to pay for other bits  . Have a look at Paul's article if you haven't already seen it http://www.mr2mk1club.com/V6MR2.html
Thanks for the reassurance Paul, I was so worried and haven't slept since your "shot down" comment. I am glad a bit of irony is OK. What is irony I hear you say. Well it's very like angle iron but not so useful :D :D :D
hey quit the peer pressure.. who say's he's even interested in a car that will whip the pants off most exec mobils.. i ask ya.. what's the point in building for the price of a second hand skoda, one of the fastest good looking cars on the road, some poeple.. tut
so are ya gonna do it?

Hi Guys, JB, ive already seen Pauls car in the flesh, in fact some of my own parts that ive had spare are in fact on Pauls car as we speak!, so that ensures my part in MK1 history 8) , & no im not going up the same road as you mad bunch, you lot will get a letter from Broadmore mental security establishment soon enough !!!!!    , Jinxy
Nowt wrong with Broadmoor mate. It's nice and warm, the food is excellent and at least there you can have a sensible conversation without someone taking the piss or shooting you down eh Paul :?
Hmm would like to see Paul's car in the flesh, only trouble is every car in front of my house doesn't go at the moment. Does anyone else have this problem? Has anyone found a solution they'd like to share?

Yeah... I think a mk1.5/twobrutal meet and greet is a good idea for later on in the year, names to faces and all that... plus a good chance to see how other folks have overcome the same problems... despite all the info and pics, I doub't any two (that was a joke!) are the same.
... anyone expecting to get finished for summer or any shows?
well ive overcome the lack of car by steeling my wifes 1.2 automatic corsa cdx  she so hates me driving her car its real cool :D but i hope to get my car on the road in a couple of weeks and then finish it off from there but id be up for a brutal meet and greet perhapse we could go out stalking beemers god i hate beemers  :D

on that note and with JAE2005 fast approaching i think its time i started organising twobrutals first club stand for JAE2006...it will mean a bit of co-operation from you chaps, helping with club banners, gazebos, bbq's the usual stuff, plenty of time to organise it all ....by that time all of the project 1.5's currently running should be complete so we should have at least 5 or 6 very special mk1's on the stand.
I maybe fancy chopping an old mk1 up to make a towable BBQ out of its boot!!!! i saw this done on one of the datsun stands last year and it was very cool! failing that i'll just use jinxys boot
I will start a thread in announcements where you can post your ideas or comments about twobrutal meets and the first club event which will be JAE2006.
