Hi Folks,

I should be vaugly remembered by a few of the names here, used to be pretty active on Bill's "old" board in the US, member of Mk1 club, drivers club, IMOC and have used various boards over the years. Have enjoyed MK1s since 1989, with passing flirtations with alfas, a Gen2 celcia, and a Maserati (Bi-turbo- ?1300 for a pair of shocks, 12 mpg nad no handling ability anyone?).

Have been pretty inactive on the "scene" for a year or so due to work; this year is tougher still but for other reasons.

I work weekends to meets tend not to happen for me - once made it to castle coombe, and once to a MK1 club meet (over 4 years as a member!). Other than that its emails.

I own an SC that was pretty heavily modified, and has been parked up for a year or so, and picked up "the yellow peril" an ex-show car known to the MR clubs in the 90's that had passed through several "can't insure it boyracer hands" and aquired several holes in its floor. (Richard Macer engine, willwood brakes etc etc) The yellow car is planned to mate with a complete turbo set up I purchased 18 months ago and have benched since.

"That woman!" out bid me in the twin-charger stakes after I persuaded the owner to sell (Toni if your reading you know I love you!) and still hasn't built the darned thing. should have gone mk1.5 then to get revenge but went sc silly spend instead.

Have no mechanical ability or time - tend to throw money at garages who promise a lot and then just add another neatening up job to the list. Grrrrrr.

My drive can hold 12 cars, and as michelle always said, I try to fill it with them - mainly on a quantity not quality basis.

Have dogs, some deer that escaped into the woods, and used to shoot a little.

Did I miss anything out? - oh yes - I can always assist with a night out if your in South Wales www.ikonroute66.com

hey harry..
sorry, been away..
love the bonnet mod all sprayed up, shame it didnt take though..at least you only need to get the hood resprayed..i had similar woes when i had mine respayed though it was through bad preperation by the paint shop..damn annoying to have paint 'go' after youve paid buckets for it to look like new..
india is great apart from the locals being the rudest most arrogant peoples i have ever met..middle class indians with money, they treat people like shit mate..to see how they speak to the 'lower classes' makes me sick..bastards...apologies for the rant but i get angry about stuff like that..
funnnily enough, havent had many curries..wierd i know..just doesnt have the same appeal as a proper UK take away..

I wasn't best-pleased about my bonnet not taking, you must have been livid with a poor job.

My brother in Law was in India this year looking at call centers, was amazed by peoples ability to walk past those who literally live in the gutter without batting an eye lid.

I hear the local road manners are - not that safety conscious - What are you driving over there then? One of those bizarre trike-taxis would be intriguing.

Cheesy pun but - do the locals pop out for an "English" then?

the driving is hilarious verging on poo your pants scarey..
but indians cant drive for toffee..they so full of ego and aggression that you just want to get out at every stop and twat the arse in front for cutting you up 20 times since the last stop..
as for my vehicular pleasures out here..well wait for it wait for it..
i bought a mahindra scorpio..
tada

its not bad considering its indian engineering..at least the engine is built in europe somewhere and not here..the brakes are waaaay too small for the weight of the car and so the pads just get gritty after about 1000km..
at least labour is cheap..had a custom bull bar made for nothing..problem was they painted it without priming it..i mean what wankers..thats after lots of wobbly head action assuring me it would be powder coated..how stupid do they think white men are really..!?..and thats another thing, skin tax..they see youve got white skin and increase their prices by about 500%..grrr..this board is quickly becoming my therapy board..
