OK chaps, it seems Christmas will be in the UK this year.

We can't have it on the 6th December so I'm going for the 13th December.

How about Dublin?

It's very nearly in the UK (well, it's right next door anyway - please don't take offence if you are Eire-ish, it was meant a geographical indicator not a cultural one - honestly!!) and taking a quick look at on line flights it would be anywhere from £60 - £90 return depending on where you fly from - which given today's fuel prices might be cheaper than the fuel to get to Leeds.

What do you think?

Breaking it down:
Flights: £150 (as a median value)
Airport Parking £20
Accomodation in Dublin: £75/night
Meal: £30/head = £60/couple

That could make it a £400ish weekend when all said and done - and could be a problem so close to Xmas?

Unless Leeds is 220 miles away from you, then you need to allow for copious amounts of tubby fuel (not quite as much as for a supra ;)) and about 4 hours of driving.

You pair could just jump on the Birkenhead to Dublin ferry for about £60 and get pissed for 7hrs. lol

Before people start shouting at me about only needing a room for the one night let me explain...

They are reserved but not paid for so they can be cancelled if necessary up to 72 hours before hand without incurring a charge.

They have been reserved as Two Brutal so everyone will be responsible for paying for their own room.

We have got a group rate of £89/per room on Friday and £99/room on Saturday - this is BED and BREAKFAST - which is a discount of about £20/room per night.

All or some rooms can be changed for room only if you'd prefer and this will be £79/room/night.

OK, I've heard back from the restaurant. They can seat us on Saturday 13th at either 6pm, 6.30pm, 9pm or 9.30pm - so which do you want? I need to let them know ASAP so the most voices (or posts) before 5pm tomorrow wins!

As for the food, there is a veggie menu (£24/person) and a choice of 3 normal :slap: menus - Combo Feast (£30/person); Meat Feast (£32/person) and Seafood Feast (£34/person). I've got the full menus as a jpg which I will post as soon as I remember how :doh: but in the mean time, here are the carnivore options on their web site - they are the Christmas Menus 1, 2 & 3 http://www.wasabiteppanyaki.co.uk/specials.htm. The veggie menu isn't shown on the web site so Goldy, you'll just have to be patient :drool:

Whilst we appreciate everything that Lynn has done regarding the organisation of the Christmas do, when the difference in price rates for the weekend is nearly £70 then we had to make the booking direct. Had it only been a matter of £10 more then we would have paid it. We also looked at the original post regarding the room bookings before making a final decision which stated

"They are reserved but not paid for so they can be cancelled if necessary up to 72 hours before hand without incurring a charge."

The difference in the "discounted" rate given to Lynn and what was available direct is almost the cost of our meals. Given today's economic climate this is a saving that we simply can't afford to miss.

I hope that there are no hard feelings and would appreciate a PM with your bank details and/or address so that we can forward payment for the meal.

I'm in somewhat of a quandary as to what to do about the others on the list...if I haven't had some form of communication from you by Sunday I'm to have to drop you off the list.

I hate doing it and I'm not being a bitch but I can't afford to cover the deposits especially as I don't know if you want to go...it was a long time ago that names were put down and I know a lot can happen. I've tried PM and e-mailing those that haven't been in touch and for those that I have mobile numbers for I've even tried texting so I really have tried...:sad: <:( :cry:
