Hi Everyone,
After working on the body for a year or so, I picked up a rev 1 turbo engine for my '88 Tbar, instead of keeping the original engine. Over the past few months I have been rebuilding it to hold off extra work when its been fitted and a couple of other bits have been added at the same time. ;-)
These forums are bloody good, by the way!
Anyone else in the Bristol area?:drink:
Cheers
Guy

:welcome: Spent a similar time on my bodywork, well worth getting it right in my opinion.

Top job, what a great set of people
Seen some of the pics, very useful. There's not too much at the moment on the engine swap yet, I have still got the head off as part of the recon job. Unfortunately, I've made no progress over the holidays because I am waiting for my head gasket to arrive.
Has anyone used a gt4 chargecooler so far? I am on the look out for a radiator to fit between the front beams and slim enough to go between the engine rad and the bonnet lock support. The Celica chargecooler rad is way too wide to fit.

A lot of people (mk2) use a Fiat Cinquecento radiator as their chargecooler radiator.

A meet up would be a good idea, though I'd be surprised if mines running before the spring.
Ideally, I want to have it ready for the Le Mans 24hr in June, that'd be a nice little run into France... Not a great amount of space for the weekend's beer though

thats the theory of it-not sure in practice 8-[ i seem to have most parts now- front suspension is halfway to being rebuilt with new everything- back is all here but just waiting for the weather to get better/warmer. heads have been skimmed and i am in the process of polishing the ports and inlet manifold but my dremel blew up!:???: so when the engine is up together then its off too adams for a flywheel skim.thinking of an inline pump so that i dont have to drop the tank- @?70 for a new walbro rated at 350bhp plus postage from the states. and then its just drop the old engine out and shove the v6 in:razz: easy peasy lemon squeezy.wiring thats another matter- but will get there eventually. would love to get it done though for le mans - its such a great run down there with all the other nutters and mental when you get there!

hmmm i could perhaps be interested in doing this as will be my last chance as a free man so its either this or try for the TT which I havent been able to make since passing my bike test when I was 17 ! Defo interested in looking at this option though as know a few that go to Le Mans and love it ! Rode the track last year on the bike on the public part anyways and i was brilliant !

if you get the choice and camp in one of the campsites , the atmosphere is amazing and builds from tuesday onwards, best day is friday-mulsanne straight 100mph in a fast traffic queue watched by around 50 gendarmes in a 70kph speed limit!!!!!!!. stop on the way and get a pint in the trackside pub and then just trawl up and down the roads stopping at all the impromtu car club meets. scantily clad laydeees with water pistols and burnouts on public roads outside camping bleu!. those that have been will know what i mean!! oh and walls around your camping pitch made from beer bottles some up to 2ft high whilst having fireworks going off at all times of the day and night!!!:-)
Put your foot down Sam, let her know who's boss...

Jasper I would but have to tread carefully as I crrently have 2 Mk1s on the drive and the celica with another mk1 in the garage and she doesnt moan about it so to make up for that I have to be careful what else I do to keep in her good books as you never know when another car needs to rest on the drive for a while !
Well, if you're scared....:tease:
