Just thought I would write a bit about myself as i've been reading the site from the start and also regularly cruise (sounds a bit seedy) the other Mr2 forums.
First off I must say I think the site is great in a lunatics have taken over the asylum sort of way :lol: and no one ever gets knocked for their ideas in the way some others forums seem to do.
I have had my Mk1 for 18mths now and am not mechanically gifted like most of the members seem to be so my only real mod to date has been to add a rear strut brace i purchased from Mr Woods. My car already had a full Eurosport kit fitted when I bought it so it already stands out from any other Mr2's near me.
Always admired the engine conversions don't think it's something i would ever attempt. Though just found out Podge lives quite near me and has offered to take me for a spin when his is up and running that might be the factor that changes my mind!
Anyway keep up the good work just because it aint broke dont mean you lot cant fix it :lol:

welcome rowdan! is the strut brace still doing its job? I am predicting when you have a ride out in podges 1.5 that will be it....you will get back into your mk1 and it just wont be the same,im willing to bet a beer at JAE that you will be making plans to build a 1.5 within a year.....shake on it?

Rowdan where abouts you from fella as I am just north of cardiff and also not far from podge ! I wasnt really considering this swap as I had other plans till I found this site but now, Im like Aniken as I too have now been turned to the dark side and really really want one as I have just seen the video of the chevy getting whooped and that 1.5 sounded just like my GT4 and with that sort of power and sound sat inches behind you it must be awsome !

Hi Sam I live in the Blackwood area about 10mins up the valley from Caerphilly.
Just watched the same vid clip myself awesome ain't it. Cant wait to see one in the flesh. Would love one myself but financial restraints put it some way off at the moment. Could always raid the wife's new kitchen fund and become the first welsh castrato with a 1.5 :lol:

I can nearly see blackwood from my place as I live in energlyn which is on your left on the hill as you drive from caerphilly towards ystrad manarch, not sen a euro kitted MK1 around yet but will keep my eye out for ya, you cant miss me, silver celica GT4 with a 5" zorst on the back and stupid huge evo spolier and you would hear the blitz dump valve from about 2 valleys away when on full chat ! Am hoping to resurect either my supercharger or my NA MK1 so I can take the GT4 off the orad and either sell it to make way for a 1.5 or at least save money by not using it so I could save for the 1.5 bits needed ! I luv anything japanese either 2 or 4 wheeled (or 3 come to hink of it) and also work with a lot of Japanese as well !

welcome on the board...as you said im also not really good mecanicly wise so im learning from my mistake (expensive yeah) but i think with time im gonna learn like everyone else :wink:
