hi everybody
i own a '87 hardtop 5-speed mr2

it has more than 165 000km on the body,138 000km on the motor.
i had the idea to build a v6 mk1 after reading Paul Wood writeup,i had already bought an '89 manual v6 camry to do it but i've blown that motor so i'll just keep some piece for my futur project.

im in the process of making out of it a great base out of it (the floor need to be done,bough 4 new disc and urethane bushing kit)

what i wanna build is a 5vzfe powered mk1

Hi welcome to the site. Nice to hear someone else fancied the V6 conversion but was your 89 a 2.5 or 3.0 litre motor?
What is the 5vzfe engine out of, sounds big :)

Nice looking mk1. Haven't really seen many metallic red mk1's about.

I like the wheels! Nice and chunky like they should be on the AW11!

... btw did you take the spoiler off, or was yours one of the ones without it?

the 89 was 2vzfe 2.5l,i drove the camry and found that the power would be great in the mk1 and it woulnd have been as costly to swap since i was already having a motor.

the 5vzfe come from the tundra and tacoma 190hp 220lb of torque

i took the wing off to modificate it, if dont look like what i want i'll put the one that's on my part car

hello mate,good to see you on the forum,JB the 5vz is the 3.4ltr 4 runner engine,i think it might be too tall for the mk1 bay but id love to be proven wrong!! :D i know NODE on the mr2oc forum has just fitted the 5vz to a mk2.

To be honest i think the 2vz blowing up is a blessing in disguise for you mate,if you're going to fit a V6 you want at least 3.0lts!!!

thanks alot everybody,tomorow im gonna pick my knuckle with my new hub and bearing pressed in :D so im gonna be able to drive it ...in 16 days when i will get my drivers liscence back :twisted:

euh i wasnt speeding mrs the officer...overhere you get youre first liscence for 2 years with only 4 point

one day it was raining and my sentra was in need of a tune-up, i started the car that day with the hairdryer and it was running very poorly, so i get to a stop in front of a school and i take off very slowly ( i couldnt even speed my car was runing fine at all) the cop make me a sign to pull over and he say he took me at 55km/h in a 30km/h zone. i was working too much at the time so i didnt took the time to contest it even if the cops had written my car was red, i had lost 2 point and didnt think that i would get caught again

2 months later im driving home after i had my grocery done and that time i got caught at 87 km/h in a 50km/h zone....that time i was really speeding, i lost 3 points :(

my battery relocation almost finish i think i've done a really professionnal
work doin it. now i have to mount everything properly and ill be done with this im gonna post pic of it later

second and third pic are the new fuse that ive put i have to fix everything
and make a solid mount for the battery

the fourth pic is the bolt from the loweram just get in on one side caus it has an angle

last pic its my racing seat that im trying to fit, theyre a few pound ligther than stock has good lateral support and fit my ass perfect. plus they look good
