View Full Version : IMOC Anglesey trackday, Sat 11th March
I've provisionally booked me and Gareth on this in the 1.5.
Is anybody else considering it or going to watch? Although I can see Goldy booked on, I can't see any other 1.5s.
Would this be the first 1.5 on a UK track or have there been others in the past?

I'll be there! But not with a 1.5, I think yours will be the first 1.5 in the UK to hit the track. :drive: \\:D/
Can I book a ride for me and my friend?
I'll have a 50 or 75bhp nitrous kit fitted (this weekend) which could be a giggle for a few laps.
Tempted to go watch this one and see you eat everything else on track :-)

Lets not jump the gun yet. Its not even running, but providing it will without having to spend too much money on it, then I should be able to get the brakes and suspension sorted by then too.
If I do go, the TBers will be welcome passenger laps.
It will be running. Have faith :-)
Quality news.... i'm sure u'll get it finished...
Any chance I can bag a passenger ride in the 1.5 please
And if anyone wants to let me drive their mk1 to show me what i'm missing... that'd be kewl too :hide:
CU guys there :righton:
Goldy are you getting more tempted to get yourself a mk1 then.
Nah I just wanna save on my tyres
I bagged passenger rides in mk1's mk2 turbos and a few mk3's at elvington. I was quite impressed by the mk1 supercharger and the mk3 handling (a bit slow tho). I'm intrested just in driving one to see what they are like... I want to know what the fuss is about
I caned the mk2s at Elvington. They are just too lardy.

I might let you drive my mk1 Goldy, if you ask reeeaaally nicely. Although it doesn't handle anything like a stock Mk1. Just don't do what Garrick did at Elvington and spin it!
lol... no worries.... I only span once the whole day... and that was the 1st time i've ever spun!
Funny story actually.... I was having a passenger ride in a mk1 sc when I saw my car infront of me on the track.... my mate (2nd driver) had taken it out without me..... he then proceeded to overcook it big stylee at the corner into the straight and span it infront of me =D> He was suitably embarassed.
Why isnt your car standard? what have you done to the handling?
p.s sooty... there wasn't a car in sight that could keep up with my driving skillz and 120bhp mk2 8-[

The rear ARB makes one hell of a difference, 1st time I drove the car after fitting it I nearly trashed it on my favourite corner the turn in was that sharp. Well worth the $100 though!

I think I overtook everybody at least once. Maybe I was that fast you missed me.

I might be finished enough to take it for a spin by then, not sure.
Get your name down as a provisional then Dan.

Too soon for me I'm afraid.... it would also cost me too much for the weekend. Would have loved to get the car out on the track but I still need suspension setting up, another set of tyres (NO way am I taking these new wheels and tyres on track!) and tons of bits and bobs finishing off (engine lid!).
I'm hoping to get to do another Elvington though.
EDIT: Just realised its in MARCH and not FEBRUARY as I though... I may have to reconsider going! Thats a fair bit more time to sort things in... I'm also taking a lump of time off work in feb (need to get rid of 40 days holiday before end of sept!), so that could help.
Come on megatron you know you want to come.... I wanna see your lovely 1.5
You only need to pay just over half now to get a confirmed place.
