Hi everyone, I thought I?d say hello as I?m probably/make that more like definitely going to be the owner of a MK1.5
But hang on it?s not mine it?s the wife?s!
you see it all started at Shakespeare county raceway at one of there Jap racer days the wife had joined us for a bit of RWUB action and wasn?t doing badly but out of our group was only beating a golf diesel,

Although she was faster than other N/A mk1?s there on the day putting in constant low 16?s .I knew she wasn?t happy she wanted to go FASTER! As I found out while having a coffee in the grandstand and seeing my s14 pull up at the start line, after she demolished some poor chap in a Honda civic that was it.

The promise was made ?I will make the mr2 FASTER for you my love? at the time it was just to shut her up and well you can guess the rest.

We just wont talk about the box with the charade turbo half made custom manifold 306 intercooler and other random bits that id enthusiastically collected before coming to my senses and going the way of twobruwtal. (Its now a bigger box filled with random parts off a rev 1 turbo)

Well I now have all the parts for the engine conversion and the car and rear clip will be soon delivered to its new home for the conversion.(please don?t hate me for not doing the work myself I just don?t have the time as I work seven days a week and have very little time off)

Cheers, and sorry for such a long 1st post!

Stu.

Shakespear raceway I have had some fun on that strip ! Ran a few low 11s down there but on 2 wheels unfortuanatly !

The shade of Pink the car looks in the Pic is not that offensive really and should have welly and paul suitably slavering by now !

This will be the ultimate embarasment for many MK2 owners, being beaten firstly by a mk1, secondly a pink mk1 and thirdly a pink mk1 driven by a woman (please note this is not a sexist comment but more aimed at us guys and our pride really!) ! so all in all a top result and I sure as hell wouldnt line up against her on the strip, least not without plenty of grip and a ruddy big bottle of NOS to keep things cool ! A warm welcome to you both !

My wife was passing the PC as i viewed this post and she is now in love....

No she doesn't want what she refers to as a "silly little car" like mine....she wants me to get her C Class Merc resprayed in that shade of pink](*,)

You should do what I did. One of the things I bought her for Christmas was a pink tool box, c/w pink tools. Was a bit overpriced really for what you got, about £30. But she can't get enough of it, now she's forever finishing those little jobs around the house that I've never got around to doing. So worth every penny really.

LOL @ Jaspers comment ! Would do that but aint letting karen near any tools ever, all mine are locked in the garage so over xmas she hammered little nails in everywhere for crimbo decos with the ruddy steak mallet ! grrrrrr

Hey i wouldn't worry 2 much bout ordering that much paint, i had to order 3 litres of fiat streight colour pink twice!!

Then had to prep two limousines and paint them pink!
They wouldn't even fit in the spraybooth!

Even worse every female who came in to the workshop that saw them later asked me for quotes to respray their cars pink!

jasper
26-01-2006, 20:32
What is it with women and pink...? Jorden now wants a pink chopper (no pun intended)

Paul Woods
27-01-2006, 07:08
shes had loads of them jasper :D

sassy its a male ego thing, our testosterone dictates we couldnt possibly even touch pink paint unless we are wearing a full body suit and welding gloves :D When i go to the paintshop for a "girly" colour for a customers car i always feel obliged to tack "its not for me,its for a car im painting for someone" onto the end :D but if you say that it makes it worse!! they then KNOW its for you!

I cant talk about painting my own car,i chose a light monkey puke yellow the first time i did my car.....wtf was i thinking!!! all i can say is it looks ok on a boxster.

superchargedsam
27-01-2006, 08:37
No Paul in "your" head it looks ok on a porsche boxter ! (I actually thought it suited the lines on the MK1.5 you built but dont tell anyone I said it ok) ! DOH !

Got home today after collecting a some parts for the swap and lo and behold she's put up a wooden venetian blind. She's only gone and no nailed it and then because it was slightly too wide she jig sawed the width to make it fit. Troube is I had to compliment her so not to hurt her feelings. Truth is though it looks like she chewed it shorter.............

When will they learn???
