york dragstrip anyone??

hi all!!!!

another club im a long term member of is organising a 'trip to the strip' and im putting the MR2 on in its current form as it will give me a good indication of the gains i can make!!! also the gains on paper as the cars progressess!!!!!

so what im asking is???? anyone else up for a run down or even a run on the strip????

were looking at august the 7th sunday if you want????

myself and freinds are meeting in the comet superstore car park at teesside park in middlesbrough/stockton on the A66 at 8.30am and will be leaving at 8.40am

we plan to make the track opening time of 9.30am so will not be hanging round for long!!!!

already a big meet with plenty of variation on the strip for my lot are

my mk1 MR2 1.6l with a 61mm TB and ported IM + 100hp nitrous
a 2.5 V6 mazda 626 producing 240hp + 125hp nitrous
a 1.6l mazda mx-5 stock but with 50hp nitrous
and a couple of fors probes under various states of tune!!!

hi all!!!!

a good day was had by all!!!

we were racing continually and i didnt get to watch much racing at all!! it all got a bit much for ashley also!!!!! so we left early!!!!

however!!!!!! the MR2 managed to astound many!!!! inc me!!!

off gas it managed a 15.985 sec quater
on +25hp jets and 6 runs!! it managed 2x 15.020 secs!!!!!!!

2 bloody thousandths from a 14 second pass!!!!!! and it did it twice!!!!!

all the rest wer inthe 15.1/15.2 secs!!!!

so.... constistant and much quicker than expected!!!! esp as shes all but stock, 1.6 16v 17years old and 130k on her too!!!!!

+25hp gas and a mongspeed TB!!!!!

next time hoping to have the IM on and +50 gas!!!!
that way we have a good measure of the gains made by the conversion to follow!!

what times do you think you would do with the turbo engine in it with or without nos? or are you going the v6 way?

there was a MK2 there running in the 12's with a turbo at 450hp!!

so think with a well balanced MK1 on bout 400hp (with gas) you could well be looking at the low 12's

which trust me is scary stuff!!!!!!

he almost lost the MK2 every run!!! will find some stats for it for you all!!!!

and yep im looking at a strong V6 with round +150 gas and lightwieght internals!!! wana see 9k redline with her!!!

or at least thats the plan!!!! (subject to change)
