Howdy,

The name's Hugh, I've owned 3 MK1's over the past 7 years or so. I still have two of them. An 87 NA in red and a black 86 SC conversion (AE92) with loads of mods. I really, really, really want to build a 1.5 and I know this is the best place to be to pick up the knowhow and ace advice. I think the 87NA is gonna have a fright before the end of the year when it gets stuffed with 3SGTE goonery :D

Great site guys. I look forward to sharing my build experiences with you all.

Cheers
Shugsta

another looney joins the bin, welcome hugh! all you need to do is make sure your 1.5 is complete for JAE 2006,our official first club meet.....we're even thinking about shipping malcolm (driftin aw11,NZ member) over in a crate.

All the help and advice you need is right here, usually within the hour as well,a more helpful lot you will never find on any other car forum.

Introduce yourself to lodgeman, the resident 1.5 ebay ferret,if its on ebay and 1.5 related he will find it! (bout time lodge had a suitable sig nik eh?)

If its formulas and engineering work you need help with JB and Adam are your chaps for that.

Podge is your man for a quick tattoo or carbon fibre part (hes a wizard at fixing fuel leaks too :D )

The rest are crazier than shitehouse rats so you will fit right in,anyway enough rambling, welcome!

Hi Mate

I'm in Motherwell trying to get rid of the rot on my Mk1 before starting the conversion although those old engine mounts look like the angle grinder is due a fight soon. Couldn't resist sticking that new Walbro pump in tonight and I hope I never need to drop that tank out again with all those hoses.

Would be good to have a local nutter at hand for help.

You sourced your clip yet?

Alright there David,

Hehe... I was born in Motherwell, my Dad lives there too. By all means gimme a shout if you need a hand, more than happy to help. I haven't got a clip yet. I'm kinda holding out for a rev3 but you never know, if the right deal comes along on any revision of 3SGTE then I'll no doubt go for it.

Cheers.

Might just have found a Rev3 for you tonight. Just found out a friend of a friend has a front end damaged Mk2 turbo sitting in his drive which he pranged four months ago. He now has a new car and he might exchange for a few notes.

Not sure of the year and overall condition although I think it is a Rev3 and the back end is untouched. Let you know if he is keen to let it go and how much cash would convince him. The car is in Ayrshire somewhere.

Just found out this afternoon that he sold it two days ago.

It was a Rev3 with a newly fitted stage two turbo, aftermarket exhaust, a set of turbo alloys and tyres and an aftermarket 17in set on the car. He sold the whole car + the extras for ?900. I don't even think it was that badly damaged.

He was a bit piddled off when he was told how much he could have got for it!

Sorry to have got your hopes up but I will keep looking.
