View Full Version : Hello, this is Todd
Hi,
I want to introduce myself. My name is Todd and I'm from Pennsylania in the USA. I own an 87 MR2 with a 4agze engine swap and auto to manual conversion using an 88na transmission, etc.
Why am I here? To research about installing a 3sgte into a MK1 MR2. I might possibly be doing this next year and want to see the difficulties of doing the conversion.
I also have a site on http://www.carpron.com/gallery/album236
with a lot of pictures of misc. stuff including more of my 87 MR2. Enjoy..

It is a Cusco bar. I just got it not too long ago. There is a group buy on www.mr2oc.com. I believe the bar is $131 shipped on that group buy which is really a great price but it might cost more to ship to the UK or less since it is coming from Japan. Mine took a little over 6 weeks to get to me.

yea, I believe I got one of the last ones.

That is a custom made metal airscoop. It is still pretty light. I'm selling b/c I need the money and also it needs some minor body work and repainted b/c all of the imperfections showed up when I had it painted the color of the car. It fits nicely, I just don't have the time or passion to create a sealed airbox so that it will work correctly.

todd cheers for the info so far. Firstly have you a link to the group buy as cant see it on there at the moment ! Also I see you have the john o short shift and the RSE plate and if they help as I have these ready to fit and wondered if it was worth making time to do it in the near future or wait till i tear the interior out for other work !

Seems like the John O and RSE plate work good. I'm happy with it but I will probably try the 93 MR2 shifter also once I can afford it. My 1st to 2nd gear synchro is going bad. Well, who's isnt' on a gearbox that is from 1988 and has over 100k on it. But, I put redline MT-90 in it and it seems a lot better after the car warms up. I haven't driven my MR2 for awhile as I need a new strut and need to bleed the coolant along with getting an alignment. I have no money now or it would be done.

welcome todd, good to see another 1.5 in the planning, all the help you need is right here although there are some minor electrical and EGR differences between USDM and UK cars we are bound to be able to help.
