View Full Version : Mini Manchester meet
No, not for minis, but for MR2 owners (especially 1.5 builders).
As there are at least 3 of us up here in the process of bastardising our little cars (me, JB & djdna2000), thought it would be a good idea to get our heads together over a pint and see how far we are getting, what problems we have come across and what bits and bobs we have to swap with each other.
There's a regular monthly sportscar meet on in Bolton on Weds 7th, which JB can make, but djdna2000 can't, but he can manage Thursday, which I can do as well.
Another suggestion would be to go to the monthly Jap meet at Mascrat Manor. Is that still on the 1st Monday of the month? If so, thats this coming Monday, which I can also make.

Righto, Thursday it is then. Now just the question of where? I'm in Northenden.

I'm in Bolton so Trafford Centre is right between us !!
That's OK by me. Not being a Trafford centre devotee give us an easy to find meeting point or car park. Is 7.30 any good?
7.30 is fine by me. Choosing a place to meet is very dependant on what we want to do. If we just want a pub car park, a pint and a chat, then I suggest The Moss Vale. Its 200yds from J9 of the M60 (the one just south of the Trafford Centre). Instead of going towards the Trafford Centre, go the opposite way off the motorway roundabout towards Urmston, and its 200 yds on the left hand side.
They also do big, cheap food there.
Sounds a good plan sooty, see you there.

are you able to bring any bits from the sw20?
I wasn't going to tbh, as I'm going straight out into Bolton afterwards so will be clean and want to stay that way.
But you can let us know what you want and my mate will know if I have it or not seeing as he's pulled it all apart.

Well I want a few bits, but some of them are probably bits that you want too! However I want a front and rear hub, happy if they are damaged cos that'll save me money as you can't really sell em to anyone else! I'm going to investigate getting mk2 hubs into mk1 hub carriers (or stub axles into hubs depending on what you call em), i.e. a mk1 with 5x114.3 PCD.
Still want those brake pads?

I'll be there at 7.30 in a white Mondeo.
I'll PM my number in case u can't find us.

'wolf whistles'.. are they for the fronts or rear jb?
dan, they are not going anywhere, so if you are passing by at some time, they will be here.
Sooty the calipers from Rally Design 01795 539930 are Midilite radial mount part no 120-7472 They are sized to go with the 280/22mm Corrado discs and the Mk1 master cylinder. You can see the mounting bracket in the earlier pic, you can borrow the ali prototype I made and the template for wheel selection. pm me when you want them.
