hi fellas weve all talked about it so here it is how about a south wales meet next saturday 6.30 meeting in say makro car park and going from there how u lot feel about it any ideas please, hope to see yal podge :D

Podge would love to but leave the UK on Tuesday and then in holland for 8 days but am well up for a meet or just a drink as I aint gonna try following your beast in my supercharger unless I bring my bike and even then it could be a close call hehehehe after that I am in the UK for 2 weekends I think then off to poncy paris for 9 days for work again so thats the following 2 weekends out ! If you get this before tomorrow or even tomorrow itself do you wanna meet up in the afty somewhere for a swift pint ! Really wanna see your motor and go over a few ideas with ya ! Am trying to sort a few off the supercharger forum as well for a decent meet one night as it could be a few NAs 3-5 SC and your ultimate MK1 ! This area is rife for decent spec MK1s so could be a brilliant meet if we can do it regular and hopefully changing jobs soon fingers crossed so no more leaving the country all the time !

welly we are hoping to sort this for this coming sunday the 6th, could be a few there including a couple of SCs hopefully podge and the monster tubby macine and a good handful of NAs as well and maybe even a MK2 tubby which would be good for comparsions !

Well, the mk2 tubby will be there if Jon can actually wake up. I will be there and so will the guy you met with the white na, we also have one of those gtech 0-60 timing devices (might not be brilliant but could be good for a laugh).

Welly I have emailed a few guys about meeting up on Sunday morning (6th) at 11am so everyone can get over thier fireworks night hangover ! We are aiming to meet initially at Macro car park which is in the treforest industrial estate which is the 2nd junction off the A470 after joining it from the M4 at junction 34, if your interested and want better directions let me know. Hopefully there will be my supercharger there and Rowans (lambo doors mental zorst), Podge in his 1.5 monster and am hoping Paff will turn up with his mates as these guys have a wealth of knowledge and that would be another 3 MK1s and a MK2 tubby ! Have also PMd the guy from swansea on IMOC with a MK1 NA to see if he wants to wander along so perhaps you guys can meet up and ddrive over in convoy ? Would be good to get a load of us together and perhaps look to make this regular if everyone is interested and look for a decent venue !

Paff I just got my G tech but havent worked out the weight of the car yet to do it accuratly but might be a giggle to have a go with them !

welly no need to rush for 11 becuase if the weather is good we could be there for a while as some nice cars to check out and if there is enough of us and it goes well and we want a regular meet we could use the pub at Sarn Park or there abouts next time ! will be worth the trip down to see podges 1.5, Rowans SC conversion with Lambos, My tin top SC, Paffs very tidy engine bay and speaker install and one of his mates has a non Tvis engine which I am yet to see and understand so plenty to see and a wealth of info from these guys ! Also Paffs mates have some cool ideas on the 4AGE engine and gearbox and have a wealth of knowledge between them !

yes take junction 32 and take 1st exit up the A470 towards merthyr then its the second exit sign posted to treforest industrial estate or/and Nantgarw I think and you go down the hill and straigh over the next roundabout and you cant miss MACRO as its huge ! there is also a showcase cinema there and Macdonalds so you should be able to find it ok !

Gotta warn anyone thinking of coming that is planning on buying a supercharger or doing the turbo upgrade once you see and hear podges car you will soon want to !

Sam. You got the directions right.

For the people who don't know the area at all and may need step by step off the M4.

M4 Junction 32 - Head towards Merthyr
2nd Exit off the A470 (Caerphilly Junction)
1st exit off the roundabout down towards Treforest Industrial site.
3rd Exit off the roundabout at the bottom of the hill (don't take the 4th or you'll end up at my office).
1st Exit off the next roundabout will take you into Makro Carpark
You won't miss Makro, and Mc Donalds is on the Same roundabout.

good turnout today guys and was nice to see everyones 2!

yup was cracking, 3 micas, 3 white, a silver and a MK2 was a top result considering the weather, as soon as I get chance I will put the pics up as well !

Thouroughly enjoyed the meet guys, was good to meet more people interested in doing silly things to their cars.

The only recommendation I can make to anyone is don't go in Podges car, you will come back with a smile that won't go away and your car will feel too boring on the way home. Next year, depending on my money I WILL be doing the swap.

Oh and Sam, we forgot to talk to Podge about the windows so will have to arrange another meet soon.

I'm still laughing to myself at the people who must have wiplash from driving past and those others that detoured right round the carpark just to drive past all our cars (especially that corsa that pulled up and stopped for a better look).

All in all a good turnout that we can only hope will increase.

Paff yup I am up for another anytime. Was brilliant to see people in normal eurocrates driving the long way round the car park to check out the cars tis for sure. Considering this was an unofficial meet and not set up by any of the clubs it was a top morning and had the weather been better then perhaps we could have tried out a few of the mountain pass roads ! Have never been involved in meets like this before as you always get a couple of pricks that always have the best car which is the fastest and they have always done everything better than anyone and blah blah blah so I can never be bothered as I dont suffer fools easily ! but this was a top day as everyone had total admiration for everyone elses car as each and every one was different for some reason or another, even wellys car caught my eye as he has the top part black over silver and it was good for me as like Johns and wellys I am considering a black top part with a different body colour. Also liked it as there wasnt an organsier as such so no one to say what we should or shouldnt do, we all arranged to meet and got there in good time (top marks to welly gettinbg there from swansea in that time in that weather was a result!) and then someone suggested a pub and we were all there ! Even a MK2 was there and no one caused him any bother and made him feel uncomfortable for owning one and it was good as many comparisons or ideas could be drawn from it. List of cars present:
MK1.5
MK2 tubby (black tbar and the best they did)
Supercharger lambo doors levin engine
Supercharger tin top
Mica blue T bar
White coupe non TVIS engine
White MK1 with boost valve and some other minor mods
Silver MK1 black from door tops up.

The weather was crap at best so to get all these guys and gals together was a top result for south wales and I was suprised how quietly the WRX left the carpark after seeing us all there ! Also got an apology from an IMOC member who couldnt come as he was working that day but wanted to come and was also from swansea so if we do it again perhaps even more will turn up !

I concur a top day with top people, a friendly and relaxed gathering of like minded NUTTERS8-) .
Also got to see a 1.5 in the flesh so to speak and I know it's been mentioned before but Podges' intercooler set up is awesome. The air it shifts out the back with the fans running we all agreed it could probably do 25 MPH in neutral:lol: I declined the offer of a ride as I have only just bought my SC and didn't want to spoil the honeymoon period and after seeing the reaction of Paff (he was all for ripping his 4age out there and then:lol:) I think I made the right decision. Maybe next time.

Nik the weather was pretty bad even for south wales but didnt dampen the meeting at all ! think the pic was dull as we lacked any colour in the cars as there were 3 micas, 3 whites, a silver and a black one so very monochrome and had we had some more mica and white ones we could have set up a game of car draughts ! We had virtually every type of MK1 just waiting for a south wales V6 now ! Gotta say when I saw Jons black MK2 in with the MK1s it did make it seem much smaller than when you see them on thier own and I do like the black T bar turbo MK2 if I was to go for one and I just see them as a luxurious crusier version of the nippy race edge MK1 ! We also had coupe, t bar and tin top Mk1s so dont rekon you get them all togehter like that at many meets ! Although it wasnt just TB memebers there (other guys are top blokes though!) it was through TB we all met and becuase of Rowdans blatent TB T shirt advertising me and PAff have put our orders in as well !
I just dont think you would get a meeting like that with the other MR2 forums (not flaming them) as they have very different views on the MK1 to the TB members and Paffs friends are just as mental in thier ideas as all the TB guys !
