Good news, I have just done a software update on the ps3 and I can now play GT4, so a question for the gamers.

Is it worth me getting hold of a ps2 - ps3 memory card adaptor so people can bring their own car collections along?

Also would a second game controller be of use?

Finally, i still havent tested it yet but i have a pc steering wheel / pedals, if it works is that worth bringing along too.

Sounds good. I've got a PS2 wheel if that's any use?

Was just about to offer the same Owen.

We need a frame and a bucket seat to use those though, bit hard on a deck chair.

Infact, scrap that, a small angled footstool to hold the pedals and a wooden tabletop on the deckchair would be perfect.

TB deckchairs. Yasss!

As for the Memory cards i screwed mine up by trying to cheat. Gonna have to start from the beginning again. WIll have it done by JAE tho.

You need to connect the ps3 to the playstation network then do an update on the box.

I think you can also add the update via a memory card but not sure where you would download it from.

I personally think we just need another 5 pints each and just pretend we have screens, gearsticks and steering wheels! It really helps with that nail biting finish.

No, no, no.

We have a 13amp power supply.

We have axle stands.

We have some grinders.

We have several "misguided fools" (TB members with MK2's).

So, just lop the front of a couple of ditchfinders and we've got comfortable GT4 chairs.

Sorted

Owen.

That's my HD Projector just been delivered so we're sorted for video. Much better than last year's projector so should do the PS3 graphics some justice.

Well Millen I have to say, that works a pretty good metaphor...

TB is PS3, where other forums are the PS2's :old: :careful:

TB = the next generation!!!

Its just a shame that for most of the weekend we will probably have the ps2 version of Gran Turismo running on it :banghead:. (which reminds me, must get hold of a ps2 memory card adaptor so people can bring their cars along)

I do have the newer free GT installed though http://www.granturismo-hd.com/

Still think GT4 is the best car game that will run on the ps3, unless anyone has and suggestions.
Anyway after a few beers I dont think anyone would notice the difference.

Ordered the ps2 -ps3 memory card adaptor yesterday so feel free to bring along you GT4 savegame cards. (my progress is pretty poor so far so if you want good cars to race bring them:driving: )

I will be bringing the ps3 with 1 game controller,
GT HD (free ps3 version - 1 track demo)
GT4 (ps2 version)
Ridge Racer 7
F1 Championship Edition
Motorstorm

Are we ok for extension leads etc?
Do we have facilities for sound?, can probably knock a lead up if required.
Do we have a ps2 steering wheel coming?

Not sure, but think it needs to be a PS2 wheel, Do they have a USB connector? Thats what is on the PS3.
