hey guys/girls/unsure's

i have a mk1 f reg and have repainted it in nato green with matt black bonnet, prob seen if went to japfest?
well im a lover of sideways action and drfiting, it so far has a freeflowing exhaust, air induction and a short shifter.
it has a couple of audio goodies but its not its main purpose.

i have warmed up the clutch in this fine wet day today and need to upgrade/replace it and wonder advice as im a fan of clutch kicking it to gain the drift.

is there anyone on here i can be refered to regards to what would be best set up as need to poss weld diff and fit my springs.
and whats invlolved in fiting new clutches.

rubbish pic from phone but this is what she is like atm, sorry to offend anyone who prefers the clean unmolested ones

its really cool to meet you all, good to see im not offending anyone, which makes a change as most HATE the look as looks 'like a tank'.
the exhaust is a powerflow system and is way too loud tbh, so will make some baffle cones for inside shortly.
i havent got any video's atm, one exsists on mate mobile but poor quality.
will get some nice day ones done.
but needing new clutch for better stuff.

how difficult is it to make a mk1.5 as never thought about it tbh, as this was ment to be a stop gap till a ae86 but im kinda liking the whole aw11 scene.
want to cut the bulk head behind the rad and do the vent on the frunk so get better air flow, but want another hood to try it on first.

any advice on best mods to do now#? and best drift setup for these or how to weld the open diff up?
i want to put these mr2's back on the map!!

saw you guys in some mags i brought from japfest from mr2oc, was mr2 only mags, looks good and will be subscribing soon!

but yeah have itchy fingers for new plans, just got a snap of boss kit for her tonight :)

welcome to TB mate, not sure welding the diff would be a good idea if you need to get the car to and from events, cornering might be a bit knocky!!

sounds like you may be tempted to go 1.5 one day and then you can have a nice competition LSD with that...

Anyone know if there are any LSD's available for the mk1 gearbox?

Think the only viable option is a supercharger box - meaning you're paying supercharger money.

welcome to the club fella i think a 1.5 would make for a real good drift car all the best with this podge:welcome:

Nice looking mk1.

As you say a modified front firewall and vented bonnet would look the part.

the mk1's a re very dependant on the geometry, you can really make the back end lively by playing with it.

Just some charger box's which go in excess of £500 a pop for the LSD ones, and then you need the charger driveshafts and hubs too.

yeah i am very interested in going 1.5 now been reading more about her, and i need to work out what mods i need to do with the geometry to make it more prone for oversteer.

if i am going the 1.5 route i may as well sort out diff then, does anyone recommend people to do the conversion or am i being too chicken and is more that fine for a homebrew?

I seem to remember that the mk2 rev1 gearbox used the same diff as the SC so if you got an aftermarket rev1 LSD you could maybe use that in a standard mk1 'box??
Or maybe not!

Yep the rev1 internals are the same as the sc. But the sc housing is different to the N/a and wont fit. (thought of ttrying that too).

Isure someone on here can make it fit though, it'll probably need a grinder

pmsl i weild the super natural powers of 'THE GRINDER' forget any war hammer of thunder and its 10000 skill points the grinder wins!

i may just weld her up untill i get finaces round into doing a 1.5 swap as would be hugely beneficial, why do woodsport have to be so bloody far away!!! im in bournemouth south uk!

lol, olber lets split the company and we grab a offspring in each end?

cheers floss, would love to do it myself but main prob is it isnt my house so can rip her out in the drive and its my daily :O so all my mods must take less that a day and can get done in local carpark.

need to angle grind the air dam out too, and put bonnet vent in. maybe a job this week, and poss refix the bumber with fahionable cable ties :P
