Well til about fifteen minutes ago I was pretty hooked on the idea of the turbo bu tnow I'm starting to change my mind very quickly it really is just an arguement between a nice vrrrooooommm psshhht or 3 litres of displacement behind me propelling me through the space time continiuom!!!
As said previuosly I'm pretty poop at this internet stuff so I can't find the spec difference n stuff as in power etc can anyone help?

Joking aside I think either option will be pretty impressive. I guess pauls is the only one that can compare them accurately as has built them both.

hi robert, good to see you on TB mate...i cant really answer on the V6 v turbo debate as i havent driven my beastie yet. They are different power bands and delivery, the V6 should be silky smooth with buckets of low down torque, and an exhaust note to cause a stiffy.
The turbo is were the big power is at,tunable to 400bhp plus but anything over 300bhp causes major traction issues...i love them both, but for entirely different reasons.
welcome bud :) good luck with your choice
welcome mate and enjoy your stay
not another v6..tch tch..i hear paul knows a thing or two but why not tackle the swap yourself..? its really not too hard..

I suck at mechanics though which kinda hinders me a bit! ;)
I actually got offered an NA mk2 engine last night and was wonderin if that swap is do able? would I still need to change the driveshafts etc?
If I can do it cheap enough then I might do it as a temporary thing til I can afford a turbo!?!!

NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO OOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO OOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!
Whatever you do mate dont do that!,3s-ge is only 158bhp,i can get that from the 4a-ge with decent tuning and no swap hassle! plus it weighs loads more than the 4a-ge so the 30bhp gain would disappear.
Also i havent a clue what driveshafts you'd need with the NA box,so you might need to fit a turbo box with that anyway...its a no no my friend.
I actually think this would be worse than having the 4a-ge.

Right I've finally made my mind up I'm gonna go for the turbo now how do I find the list of bit's and bob's that I need to get for you paul cos I'm still cluless I'm thinking of either getting a tubby that was a front end write off or just a cheap as chips one but where do I find out about aaaallll the other stuff I'd need?
Cheers for the warm welcome by the way everyone.
Robert
