    Hi from Texas

Finally joined this site. The US forums are awesome, but they lack what i need the most.. 2gr swap info! Ive noticed that way more people here are diving into 2gr's. Thats what im currently working on. Just picked up a 91 turbo hardtop shell, bought the mounts from gouky, now looking for more info. Specifically wiring.

Welcome to the club mate, shouldnt be difficult to find the info you need here, the 2gr is the new standard (if you got the bank :) )

Welcome to Twobrutal and good luck with the swap!

The wiring is a bit of a tough one as there are so many differences between MR2 revisions/2GR looms/ECU's etc etc there is no official way of going about it. Just lots of reading/researching and then questions to clarify what the hell is going on.

I made LOADS of mistakes on mine but its finally running and the feeling from when it first fired up was like winning the lottery!

thanks man, actually, your build thread is what made me actually join.
& yea, reading/researching is what ive been doing countless hours of, so when the time comes, im not totally stumped.
from what i read so far, the rav4 wiring is the simplest. & hopefully i can find a ecu without an immoblizer.

Very nice, I do miss my old black T-bar sometimes.

I'd try for the 2 plug harness as your option for getting a new non immobiliser ECU is cheaper than going 5 plug.

    yep, thats my plan man.
Its just that locating a nice motor from a reliable source down here is probably going to be harder than the wiring itself!
