Sorry to hear Paul but like most people I also pulled my back playing my one and only game of squash and I carried on as it just went numb, in bed for a week after but it got easier by the day. Remember even though painkillers make you feel better, you're NOT it just masks the pain of the injury so let it take it's course.

Good advice on icing and rest, sleep on the floor or a board to stop your back sagging. Hope you get well soon.

BTW was the spanner in your wallet???

Ever since my first visit to Woodsport to deliver that restraining order, I've been saying "where is everyone?".

I fully expected to see a team of people all over cars based on the work you turn out, and it was just you with yer man assisting (David?)

I know you "just don't trust people to do the job right" but I bet you could get a couple of real enthusiast engineering students on some kind of scheme. They would get a proper apprenticeship and you would get to do less graft.

You need to shift more into specialist/ consultant; none of us are getting any younger.

Plus I would have though having a couple of strapping young men oiled up would appeal.

    ;)

Good luck with that mate, I feel your pain. It happened to me the Wednesday before Easter, getting up out of bed. It progressively got worse and by the weekend I couldn't move. I couldn't even lower myself down on the toilet to take a shit. I had to squat over and then I wasn't able to reach to wipe my arse. Had to just clean myself in the shower. That's when I decided I needed to go to hospital to get checked out.

They didn't do a lot, put me on 500mg Ibuprofen and mega strong Co-codamol 30/500. They were strong to me at least, I kept dropping off to sleep and they gave me weird dreams. Luckily I work from home, so was able to cat nap :) It was only after the fourth day that I realised I was overdosing on the bloody things. I thought it said take two every four hours, it actually said take two, no more than four times a day, so make sure you read the prescription properly :)

I'm all sorted now, but it took about four weeks to get fighting fit again.
