So all I have to do now is sit and wait for parts to turn up....

In the meantime gonna paint the engine block vht blue so I can then see any oil leaks in the future

Then do everything else vht silver and maybe some blue highlights to match the car

So got it down to just the pistons to take out

I'm now at the stage we're I want to replace the rings and bearings but that needs more work and I'm not sure if I should fix something that's not broken jut for the sake of it

But then I'd have piece of mind it's been done

    Hmmm

Got a turbo flywheel on its way and hopefully the engine
Received the ecu thanks to Paul Woods
Just waiting on a few bits now

Question.... Should there be something between the sump and the carrier?

    Like a strainer or something?

Oh and painted the block vht blue so I can spot any oil leaks easier

Been quoted 100 for a skim but another 100 quid to rebuild the head so think I'll get the skim done but borrow a valve compressor to put the valves back in

Went down to Haynes on Sunday to meet up with a few other fellow mr2rs

If you have removed the valves then they will probably need regrinding back in.

I've got a valve lapping stick so that'll keep my busy for a while...

Ordered a new oil pump and oil pick up as for some reason this was missing from the engine

Got some plastiguage through the post today and a few other bits so can make a start on the block

Got the block all apart, pistons and crankshaft out and on the workbench

Got the heads stripped too ready to get skimmed

Do these valves look OK? What can I used to clean them up with?
